I was told to bring them new clothes and leave the old behind - and my kids were 9, 13 anad 15 at adoption. So, they came to me with absolutely nothing... I sm in Ireland and I adopted my little girl from Bac Ninh in may last year. She had the no. 8 sewn into her clothes too - I thought there was only six baby rooms in BN and I wondered why the 8 was on Ngo My Hieps clothes?? I asked about it on several adoption sites to see if anyone remembered if there were 8 rooms ( we were not allowed to see the babys rooms). But I got no responses?? Your children are beautiful - I wish you happiness with them - karen and Megan Ngo My Hiep.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04640621862010426073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7524744304410152363.post-13332629570311664332009-03-01T10:22:00.000-06:002009-03-01T10:22:00.000-06:00Yes, please! He has them really bad on his back and even some rings around his ankles and a spot on his wrist. We were told they might fade later. To play it safe, we took pictures of him in Viet Nam and have attached them with the Visa physical where it was documented he had m.g. We then filed copies with our pediatrician and with our social worker who did our home study. When we travel, we'll keep a set with us in case we have to make an unexpected trip to the doctor or e.r. A lot of people in the medical profession are not familiar with them. I love to organize things! Ann, if you go to an education store (like they have stores for teachers-- in pretty much every city I've ever been to) you'll find lots of ideas- pocket charts, cubbies, etc. Elementary school teachers are always needing organization on a massive scale, and those stores cater to those needs! I would think a pocket chart would be ideal for Barbie stuff. I use one in my classroom for calculators, but I think Barbie's clothes could easily and attractively be arranged-- by type, by outfit, by color, by material... How fun! (yes, it is a sickness...)MSChazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15487747921681803030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7524744304410152363.post-52053405379224281632009-01-26T08:30:00.000-06:002009-01-26T08:30:00.000-06:00I have recently ran into some organization problem...I have recently ran into some organization problems as well since I now have a 13 year old and a 7 year old sharing a room. We bought a 9 cube storage (also at Target) that has the fabric drawers that go inside of them. We have a Barbie drawer, a Polly Pocket drawer, etc. In each drawer, I put all of the accessories (little pieces) in ziploc bags, and just put the dolls in by themselves. Then when the girls want to play, they just take one drawer out at a time. I like it because you can't see through the fabric drawers, and the girls know they can't get another drawer out until the first drawer is put away. We didn't put fabric drawers in all of the spaces; we used some spaces for books, and other oversized toys that wouldn't fit in a drawer. (laptop, art kit, etc.) They just recently had the fabric drawers on sale at Target for $5.50, and the are normally about $6.00. They come in all sorts of pretty colors. I think that the cube storage was $50.00. We are thinking of adding another one once we get the room painted.
We also bought 4 different closet storage solutions at Target during the recent sale. They are great to provide a little extra room in a ever-shrinking house! (2 additional kids will do that!!)
Love you and hope that helps! Can't wait to see you all in March...I need to get lots of hugs and kisses from both Jordan and Brian. The ones on her back go all the way up over both her shoulders so when she wears sleeveless tops they show. We have already had several people ask us "what happened to her". And she has a habit of walking around and lifting up her shirt and it looks like she has about 30 bruises on her back. We have already educated our family and friends on them but I am always feeling paranoid in public about them. Half of me wants to tell people what they are because I know they have noticed them and the other half of me says its none of their business. I'm not looking forward to summer though! We already get enough intrusive questions from complete strangers! Are your daughters completely gone? Just curious how long it takes for them to fade.
